With Sellvio version 5.14.0, we've introduced two new features that give you more granular control over your online store's SEO and user settings.
What's New
SEO Settings and Logging
We have expanded our admin interface with a new main SEO menu item.
The new SEO menu includes two new admin pages, which can be accessed under the following points:
- SEO → Settings
- SEO → 404 Log
Let's take a look at the new settings available to Sellvio webshop owners in the new version.
SEO Settings
Thanks to Sellvio's new SEO setting, you can now fine-tune how your webshop reacts when your customers try to open a page that does not exist.
You can decide how your web store should react to non-existent pages:
- Display a "Not Found" page with a 404 status code
- Redirect to the homepage with a 301 status code (permanent redirect)
- Redirect to the homepage with a 302 status code (temporary redirect)
404 logging
The real power of the new SEO feature lies in logging. Now you can decide whether you want to log the paths that your customers could not reach (they ran to a 404 page).
The list available on the SEO → 404 log administration page provides you with precise feedback on when, from which browser, and which path your customers could not reach.
Take control and react in time so that the content of your web store is always available to your customers.
Restricting customer account activation
By default, all newly registered customers can activate their customer account via the link provided in the activation email, which our system sends to the newly registered customer at the end of registration.
Several of our subscribers have expressed the need to manually activate their registered customers' accounts, after prior review, instead of the automatic process.
As has been proven many times in the past, we at Sellvio listen to our subscribers' needs, so we have introduced a new setting that allows the online store owner to decide whether they want to activate their newly registered customers individually.
Alternatively, you can continue to allow newly registered customers to activate their accounts themselves via the link available in the email sent by the system.
